by Keeping the Faith means to do it God's way. Obedience.
Doing it our way means going astray and being caught by the Enemy who tossed a morsel of bait to bite.
The Original Sin started this way. Not doing it God's way. And they were perfectly created.
God had to Sacrifice to bring us the opportunity to come back to Life for each soul. Each must choose. Free will. God will not make the choice for you. He provides for us to use our intellect and free will.
The Enemy blinds and does not want you to see and accept Truth.
The Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil is nothing but a disguise to Death.
When we as Man understand this, God makes the change upon the Earth.
How we learn and understand is up to each. With shocks and pains is the normal way. As we learn at Golgotha two were with Christ. Both could have been saved, but only one woke up and smelt the coffee burning.
The Way to Heaven is detachment from what is Human and World and Satan.
The Spirit of the World is Satan. Many do not believe and thus to believe they have to See it To Believe It. Thus it comes true. Antichrist.
