Sense, sentiments, appetites of the human being, the weakness of man and woman.
Faith Hope and Charity, Fortitude, Temperance, Justice, Prudence are virtues.
The Holy Spirit converts man from the fallen human being into a saint ridding of these affections the wrongs ones and sentiments the wrong ones. They are purely human and keeps man from ascending. All that is the fallen human being is made null. They hurt man and woman.
The Spirit of God converts these to holy affections and holy sentiments of purity and love. Thus having true affections and sentiments that do not hold one hostage and become slain.
The human kind negates the love. It keeps man from knowing true love.
Once converted, man is able to rise in the Ether of True Love and soar no longer a point of weakness, but a strength. He is then in charge of his affections and sentiments and they are made. He then is strong.
With Sin these affections and sentiments enslaves man and easy prey to the seductions of lust. It is the same as shackles to his thoughts.
