by Jesus specifically states, that He is the Vine and we all of us in the Faith, His Church are His branches made to bear much fruit.
He specifically orders us to follow Him and do --imitate and assimilate His ways, thoughts, will, actions in dealing with God and neighbor.
How we are to act and behave each and every moment for those less attentive. The end goal is have a well formed character and mind, a strong love, a firm faith in the power of God. God supplies everything. Must remove every fiber of humanity, ergo, the human will and ego.
The souls will and ego must be the only one active in the person here below then made perfect in Heaven.
First and foremost one must become wise and prudent --virtues-- humble, humility, meekness, loftiness,.
Faith in God meditating on His teachings. This forms the will and thought. Continuous small steps of obedience.
The Lord Jesus' words are 'spirit and life.' For the whole person, all it's parts: Jesus words state, love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. Notice He does not say with your 'flesh'. He says, with all your heart, mind, soul and strength. The strength of heart and mind.
His words are to be meditated on. When man is working in the field plowing and harvesting crop, the Lord illuminates.
When man is sitting praying in meditative prayer, the Lord illuminates and infuses grace, to nourish the mind of the soul.
