Matthew 5
[17] Do not think that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
[18] For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till all be fulfilled.
[19] He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I tell you, that unless your justice abound more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Interjection: We Catholic Christians must also 'fulfil' the Law and Prophets, imitation of Jesus. But we do not Judge. For there is only One Judge. Therefore it makes it easier for us to live. Love, compassion, mercy: Virtues.
Jesus did not come to 'abolish' the Law or the Prophets. For what God has spoken, is 'immutable.' God does not speak things and then later retracts them. He teaches the rest of us "how to fulfill the Law and Prophets." Because He was the Man. The Teacher. The Master. A Master needs a set of examples to teach. In this case Jesus used the Laws of His Father. Which is what He states to fulfill. Then He states to imitate Him.
Man is still living and procreating. The Creation still exists. And while these exist, the Law of God to fallen man exists, and remains the 'rule.' His Law of Governance, to administer life on the Earth. Overseer of all existing life. Man and Angels, and the quadrupeds plus the other animals, fish and birds which God created for 'man.' When man ceases to exist on the Earth, which means, no more, then will the Law of God be of no use. God has finished His work on the Earth, the Law is not longer, required.
When man reaches, where God desires man to be, He says: "Love." Love is then the Highest Rule an order given to man, a command. This command although set as a rule for all men to follow, God knowing and giving free will, not all will follow, cling to, embrace.
Notice: "Fallen Man."
While man exists on the earth, the tendency to sin, because Temptation exists.
If there were no Law, man would be free to do as he wishes. He could sin and cause evil. We see where, men do not follow the Law, but follow their rules and live contrary to Good. This states to Man, if you want to be with God, you must not be like those who are not willing to be with God.
For Heaven is not a bunch of rules. It is love, those who elevated from beasts to angels.
The Law of God is to help man elevate from beasts to angels.
This is God's way of telling man how to do it.
The way of the beast is rebelliousness, because they live with no Laws.
To discipline it is required to harness these beastly ways.
It give man, goodness. Teaches man the difference between beasts and angels. Good.
Teaches man God is Good.
Teaches man God gave free will. Which teaches he gave them to Adam and Eve and the Angels. God was not pleased with Adam and Eve and Lucifer. Lucifer never changes. Adam did, over time and was granted to live in the Father's House in Heaven.
Adam was taught how to please God, but he forsook it. And later repented. Over the generations, man slowly but surely Forgot How to Please God. And thus went the way of Beasts. Even the sons of God as written in Genesis for they found the daughters of men, pleasing to the eye and took them for wives. And thus the result was, carnage, sin and iniquity and God wiped them.
God had to later institute a Law to govern man from the beastly way. These Laws became necessary because man, would easily forget God. The carnal nature was too strong in man. The Hebrews in Moses time rebelled, this tells us this fact, they were too carnal. This demonstrates, man was not able to adhere to God's Ways. The Bible is full of 'demonstrations.' Where God is telling man not to go the way of Beasts. He did not create man to be such. Free will, intelligence, a mind, reasoning, a soul. As long as man is granted a soul, free will is part of the granting. Man has to learn. He needs Laws to guide him to goodness. Because man lost all goodness.
The Law will not be abolished. It is the Father's law.
Jesus came to institute his commandments, to teach man to love the Laws. To love the Laws means to love the One who gave them. The Father. Jesus then, prescribed love as the means to take and embrace the Father, His Law.
Psalm 18 Read it.
[8] The law of the Lord is unspotted, converting souls: the testimony of the Lord is faithful, giving wisdom to little ones. [9] The justices of the Lord are right, rejoicing hearts: the commandment of the Lord is lightsome, enlightening the eyes. [10] The fear of the Lord is holy, enduring for ever and ever: the judgments of the Lord are true, justified in themselves.
[11] More to be desired than gold and many precious stones: and sweeter than honey and the honeycomb. [12] For thy servant keepeth them, and in keeping them there is a great reward. [13] Who can understand sins? from my secret ones cleanse me, O Lord: [14] And from those of others spare thy servant. If they shall have no dominion over me, then shall I be without spot: and I shall be cleansed from the greatest sin. [15] And the words of my mouth shall be such as may please: and the meditation of my heart always in thy sight. O Lord, my helper, and my redeemer.
Matthew verse 18 says this specifically that this Law will in no wise be abolished --pass.
[18] For amen I say unto you, till heaven and earth pass, one jot, or one tittle shall not pass of the law, till
all be fulfilled.
Then the next verse explains to keep the Law and He was teaching and pointing out "silently what the Pharisees were doing" They were Breaking the Law. They used the Law as A Weapon and not the Means to Save, Elevate and Teach Man.
Matthew 5:19
[19] He therefore that shall break one of these least commandments, and shall so teach men, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven. But he that shall do and teach, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Read these words carefully Oh, Priests who teach men not to give credence to My Father's Law.
Jesus did not come to 'change' the law. Specific words, 'one jot,' or 'one tittle'. He gave life back to the Law which was trampled on. Then He placed His Love on the Law, the Word of God speaks, breathed life back into the Law.
Jesus, bowed before the Law of His Father. He honored His Father. He respected His Father. Those who teach to not heed the Laws and Observe them, read again, teach correctly. The Protestants, teach not to observe them.
His Love is His two Commandments: Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength; Love your neighbor as yourself.
His first commandment is placed on the First Three 1-3 Commandments of the Law of God. His second command is placed on the Seven following, 4-10. To Love God means to Love His Law, the precepts or statutes. Law and Commandments, to get your attention. Then, God resounded the judgments, how to 'judge' in the Levitical statutes and precepts.
The Law of God the Commandments are the emphasis, then having the Levitical statutes in the other hand, you make true judgment based on the Law and Commandments in the other hand. A true scale. Weight is in God's Words. When you read the Levitical statutes, they all derive from the Law and Commandments, branches. The Intelligent Mind of God, ordered them aright.
Read Poem of the Man-God, especially "Clear Water Sermons" and then the "Beatitude Sermon on the Mount."
The Clear Water Sermons, Jesus explains the Law; all Ten of Them.
The Sermon on the Mount Beatitudes from Poem of the Man-God is the full length version, --Matthew was inspired to write from--, towards the beginning of Book 2; Clear Water Sermons in Book 1 latter part of the Book.
Never teach anyone that the Law is no longer. This is false and is Protestant by nature, but comes from an error.
The Church does not teach "there is no Law any longer."
It is part of the Church. It is erected in Her. It is needed while man fights Evil in himself, the world and Satan. To teach beasts and the lost and the erring, the right way to the Father's Will.
Then as man elevates in the Way, becoming love, love becomes the rule. Evolution of the soul. Changing from carnal to spirit. The 10 Commandments stand because man is created to be filled with knowledge. Good or Evil.
Let's take a horse, brand new, not broken. What does the horse do? Fights back, doesn't want to be tamed, rebels, wants to live free and not have a rider to steer him about. This is the same for man. He is born, wild, the flesh. If the child is not taught goodness, to restrain the carnal nature, the child grows into a wild man, and he thinks everything is 'good.' Cannot differentiate between good and evil. Not able to reason, Because he was not taught them. As one gets older, one sets in their ways. And at an older age it takes a lot of work to tear down the wild thickets, that have grown.
The Law is necessary to harness the animal in man. His lower nature. The Law is Discipline.
When the Law works in conjunction with the soul.
As the child grows in honoring and observing the Law, binds them about the neck, God's love is growing inside the soul. The Law as mentioned is to harness the animal man, allowing the spirit of man to rise to become an angel in God's Heaven.
Jesus says, to use the Law for your elevation, your benefit. Raise your spirits out of the mud, and drag your flesh with you raising your whole self out of the mud entirely. Become Seraphim. A Saint.
Jesus breathed love on the Commandments. Jesus being the Man teaching man to love. To love God's Laws. This brings down God's blessings upon man and woman and God is Well Pleased with His sons and daughters. Amen
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
Peace be with you always
